The Daito Group embraces the following management philosophy: “We will create a favorable workplace environment where every employee can find ‘joy in working at a cheerful company’ with the aim of being a company that can contribute to creating a healthier society and be always the first choice of customers.” By living up to the philosophy, we will maximize our corporate value and contribute to building a sustainable society. The Daito Group CSR Policy is a guide for our journey to the maximization of our corporate value and the achievement of a sustainable society. Everyone working in the Daito Group in Japan and abroad fully understands the policy and makes decisions on daily activities on the basis of the policy.
Daito Group CSR Policy
As a general pharmaceutical manufacturer that provides pharmaceutical products to diverse stakeholders, the Daito Group is keenly aware of its own social mission of getting deeply involved in the lives and health of people and promotes business activities that can contribute to the sustainable development of people, society and the global environment.
1 Fulfill the responsibility to maintain stable supply of safe pharmaceutical products and services
- As a pharmaceutical manufacturer that is deeply involved in the lives and health of people, the Daito Group will contribute to offering the general public better access to pharmaceuticals by fulfilling its responsibility to develop, manufacture and stably supply excellent products.
- The Group will also formulate a business continuity plan and constantly review it to ensure stable product supply in the event of an emergency. By doing so, we will strengthen our system for continuing to provide pharmaceutical products and services while assuring the safety of employees and outside stakeholders even in a crisis, such as a natural disaster, a pandemic or a cyberattack.
2 Ensure the soundness, fairness and transparency of business activities
- In the belief that maintaining the trust of its stakeholders is an essential requirement for business development, the Daito Group will comply with all applicable laws, ordinances and rules of each country or region, as well as internal rules, and conduct fair and transparent business activities with a heightened ethical awareness.
- The Group will also maintain sound relationships with public servants, client companies, etc. without being involved in bribery or corruption with them.
- In addition, the Group will resolutely respond to antisocial forces, including organized crime groups, their affiliates and terrorists, which threaten the order and safety of civil society, and refuse to have any relationships with them, including indirect involvement.
3 Respect human rights
- The Daito Group respects the human rights of all people and the fundamental rights of workers. The Group will also prohibit any act of discrimination or harassment and value diversity. We will never be involved directly or indirectly in forced labor or child labor.
4 Promote the establishment of a safe and rewarding workplace environment
- The Daito Group will fully respect the personalities and individualities of all employees and promote the establishment of a workplace environment where they can work safely with a feeling of achievement.
- The Group will also strive to establish mechanisms for helping all employees adopt diverse work styles according to their stages of life by providing them with opportunities for capability development through an education and training system based on a medium- to long-term plan and building a system for fair personnel evaluation.
5 Conserve the global environment
- With a full awareness of mutual influence between business activities and the global environment, the Daito Group will be actively committed to conserving the global environment by taking action to prevent chemical pollution, recycle resources, and adapt to and mitigate climate change.
6 Contribute to the development of local communities
- The Daito Group will work actively to contribute to the development of local communities with the aim of continuing to be a good corporate citizen trusted and loved by local people in all areas of its operation.
7 Promote the fulfillment of social responsibility throughout the value chain
- The Daito Group will work with stakeholders to promote efforts to mitigate or resolve important social issues that arise throughout the value chain involved in its business activities.
8 Comply with the Daito Group CSR Policy and ensure the fulfillment of management’s responsibilities
- All Daito Group directors and managers will take the initiative in complying with the Daito Group CSR Policy. In the event of a violation against the CSR Policy, they will do their best to resolve it and fulfill their responsibilities as management members.
